  • spay / neuter at 6 months

  • registering your microchip

Medication:

  • Panacur (for deworming - do not recommend Strongid-T) RX

  • Ivermectin (gets rid of ear mites and used as heartworm prevention - get dosage chart online) can get OTC at Tractor Supply

  • The three mandatory immunization shots (usually administered starting at 6-7 weeks, every 2-3 weeks, until 13 weeks of age) include: the feline panleukopenia virus (FVR/FHV-1), feline herpesvirus-1 (FVC), and feline calicivirus vaccines (FPV). Rabies is also required in most states.

Supplements:

  • Probiotics for cats (VetriScience brand)

recommended food

All our kittens transition to Purina Pro Plan LiveClear Kitten Chicken & Rice Formula Dry Food

  • We recommend staying with this variety for the initial first year

  • Wet Food can be used as a supplement (if desired)

  • Pureed pumpkin (pure - no spices). Helps with stools as it adds fiber.

  • Churru cat treats (or similar lickable treats)

grooming

Siberians will need routine grooming.  We recommend the following:

  • Soft baby hair brush (for training little kittens to enjoy brushing)

  • Nail clippers (with LED lights)

  • Undercoat Rake and De-matting Tool

  • Grooming comb (one with long and short teeth) for removing tangles and loose fur from undercoat

  • Dawn dish soap for bathing (rinse very well after any shampoo)

  • Hepper Deshedding Brush

Litterbox Items

 We recommend the following:

  • Cat litter trapping Mat - has honeycomb look

  • Litter robots (off brands are less expensive)

  • Pine pellets (inexpensive litter solution, you can remove solids and dump saw dust around landscaping as 100% pine) *not for use in robot litter boxes!

  • SoPhresh crystal cat litter (if you are using a robot these crystals do not just fall through like microcrystals do)

  • Large plastic bins with lids (cut a cat sized hole at one end and on the lid - use as litter box)

  • Litter Genie (disposal system for solid waste or clumping litter - similar to a diaper genie)

  • Stainless steel litter boxes with sifting pan

  • Tidy Cat Breeze Litter System (you can find off brand liners likje Amazon Basics, and clay pellets from other brands like Honey Care, which are  less expensive)

Toys & Household Items

 We recommend the following:

  • Tunnels (large ones that can be arranged in a circle and thrown in the wash)

  • Potaroma Cat Toys Chargeable, 3in1 Hide and Seek, Automatic Interactive Fun, Fluttering Butterfly

  • Wand toys with feathers or soft cloth at the end to chase

  • Cat tree, tall with scratching posts

  • Cat carriers with wheels - helps for going to the vet etc., especially when full grown

  • Snuggle kitty stuffed animal - with heartbeat (for pet anxiety relief when you bring home a single kitten)

  • Stainless steel water fountain

  • Gravity Water Dispenser (for when your fountain runs out of water or battery life) with stainless steel bowl

  • Allergy Asthma Clean Allergen Spray
